Jobos Beach has a quiet beauty and calm setting that can be deceiving. While it is a great locale for strong surfers and sun bathers, the water has a notoriously strong riptide that is known for catching, and even drowning, swimmers.
Located on the island of Puerto Rico, 1.2 miles northwest of Isabela, You might want whether or not you're staying particularly close by. Seclusion and privacy are the features which most exemplify Puerto Rico's beaches, but Jabos Beach offers those same relaxation qualities without having to be too far removed from the city's activity.
Jabos Beach is located down a dirt road off PR 466.
The roads leading up to Jabos Beach are relatively flat and dusty, with a few trees and patches of grass. The sand is a soft combination of tan and white, and the ocean is aquamarine.
You could always try the restaurant right on the water, if it suits your taste. There are a lot of dining experiences that vacationers can enjoy in Puerto Rico, but eating at the beach can be especially memorable. So, you may wish to consider getting pre-packed lunches from your hotel if they offer them. Or, on your way to the beach you could grab some carry-out from a casual dining spot.
There is also a concession stand available.
Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. The water here is fit for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some gear if you are looking to do some underwater exploration.
Don't forget that the area right around Jabos Beach is rather congested, so show up early.

Jabos Beach is near Quebradillas, so you can explore the city as part of your day at the beach. The city of Quebradillas is close-by and is in an area with plenty of worthwhile sites, while still remaining less developed and congested as some other places. From the coast, Quebradillas is located roughly seven miles (11 kilometers) away.
The mood here——social and lively, or virtually empty—— will depend on how many hotel guests decide to make the trip as well. The beach is not located close to many large hotels, but it can appeal to guests staying at smaller lodgings in the area.

Even after a restful afternoon at the beach, the day isn't truly complete until you visit a nearby restaurant, where you can dive into Puerto Rico's specialty dishes, without going too far from the coast. One of the nearest restaurants is Chris Restaurant. The restaurant features International cuisine. They have become well-known, however, because of their seafood.

Another location you may want to try is Crash Boat Beach, located a quick cab ride away.
Jabos Beach could be the ideal stretch of sand, but it is possible that it may not be the best choice for your family; in which case there are other beaches (and other outdoor attractions) worth trying.
