Laguna Tortuguero Nature Reserve

One of the most critical ecosystems in all of Puerto Rico, the Laguna Tortuguero is home to almost one-thousand species of plants and animal life that is constantly loosing living space elsewhere on the island. Most noticeably, guests will have no problem spotting crocodiles and a variety of birds.

Those taking the time to visit the Laguna Tortuguero Nature Reserve should be pleased with its mix of recreational activities, hiking trails, and the offering of wildlife viewing opportunities. Those up for an adventure are free to go hiking in the rough terrain, as well as experience a bit of mountain climbing while they are at it. If you are looking for an adrenaline rush a bit closer to the ground, you can rent a mountain bike and take the winding trails while speeding over bumps and turns. While not for everyone, the entire experience at the reserve can be a great deal of fun.
