Manglillos Beach

Located on the south coast of Puerto Rico, Manglillo Beach is part of the Dry Forest Reserve. The calm waters and beautiful surroundings make it a favorite amongst both locals and tourists, especially on weekends.

Set on the island of Puerto Rico, You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying very close. Visitors will find that, although Manglillos Beach is by no means secluded, it's not the most crowded beach in Puerto Rico either. This makes it an excellent choice for those of you who want to visit a somewhat lively beach but also want to skip out on the crowds.

How to Access The Beach
To get to Manglillos Beach, take Route 325 until is dead ends, then turn east, and drive along the shore until you reach the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

Backed by the dry forest and line with trees and brush, Manglillos features clear, calm, turquoise waters with mangroves, and soft, blindingly white sand.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline.

Positioned on the South West coast of Puerto Rico; the area is home to other attractions such as La Parguera Nature Reserve, which is three miles to the northwest.

History-focused attractions such as Hacienda Buena Vista are a wonderful compliment to the scenery of Manglillos Beach, plus they allow vacationers to learn more about Puerto Rico, without having to stray too far from the beach. Actually, this coast is a drivable distance from this interesting historical site.

Cities and Towns

Manglillos Beach tourists looking for other opportunities for exploration might consider making the trip to Guánica, since it's close-by and is a particularly bustling part of Puerto Rico. From the beach, Guánica is just up the road, maybe four miles (six kilometers).


How many other people you encounter at Manglillos Beach will depend on if you visit during a popular season, which is often indicated by how busy the hotels are. There aren't many large hotels in the immediate vicinity, but you may meet guests staying at smaller accommodations in the area.

Other Beaches

There are multiple beaches to discover in Puerto Rico, of course, so perhaps you can explore more than one.

You may also like Playa Santa, where there's usually lots of activity. You'll find it two and a half miles to the east-southeast. If you're looking for something a little more private, Combate Beach may be a good choice. It is located a little ways away, but is well within reach if you've got a car.

Vacationers may also want to visit Rosado Beach, located only a short distance away.

Of course, there are lots of other things to do and see in Puerto Rico; then again, visiting Manglillos Beach or the other beautiful beaches in the area can make your time in Puerto Rico even more memorable.
