St. Thomas' “second city” of Red Hook is located on the island's southeastern tip and is home to the ferry terminal which brings passengers back and forth from the nearby island of St. John.  The town can be busy at times, but not in a way that will overwhelm those looking for a quiet getaway.  The dining and nightlife scene is increasingly becoming a draw, but there are also a number of tried and true activities to keep visitors busy that include all manner of watersports, shopping at the Havensight Mall for duty free goods, and getting in a game of tennis at one of several courts that tend to be available at various accommodations.
