Sandy Beach is more of a surfer's haven than swimmers paradise. Large waves year round make Sandy beach one of the top Surfer destinations in Puerto Rico.
Guests will find this beach four and a half miles (seven kilometers) west of the center of Aguada.

1 | Playa Higuero
Often called "Little Malibu," Playa Higuera is home of some of the best waves for surfing in Puerto Rico -- in fact, world-class surfing competitions are often held on these shores. Though the waves are too rough to be conducive to swimming, staking your claim in the sand to watch surfers do what they do best can make for an enjoyable morning on the beach.
The center of Aguada is located four miles (six and a half kilometers) to the east of this beach.

Travelers can find this beach within traveling distance of Rincón, two and a half miles (four kilometers) to the north-northwest of the center of Rincón.
2 | Domes Beach
Set between the Rincon Lighthouse and the inactive Nuclear Reactor of Puerto Rico (called the "Dome"), Domes Beach is one of the best surfing beaches in Puerto Rico. Swimming is not recommended due to the strong currents, sharp rocks, and pointy sea urchins, but many vacationers head this way to beach comb and watch as islanders test the waves.
You can find this beach a few hundred yards (a quarter kilometer) from Trampa Beach.

Indicators Beach is located on the western tip of Puerto Rico, just south of Lighthouse Park. This beach has rough waters that make it less than ideal for swimmers, but surfing and beach combing are popular pastimes here.
This beach can be found within easy traveling range from Aguadilla, a few hundred yards (a few hundred meters) from Domes Beach.

If Rincon is the surfing capital of Puerto Rico, than Maria's is the surfing capital of Rincon. During high season, the waves at Maria soar higher and crash harder than anywhere else on the island.

1 | Tres Palmas Beach
With waves that can reach up to 25 feet during the winter months, Tres Palmas Beach is known as one of the best snorkeling beaches in the Caribbean. During late spring and through the summer, however, the rough waves die down and visitors find it a great spot for swimming.
Found on the northwestern outskirts of Rincón, this beach is located one and an eighth miles (a kilometer and a half) northwest of the center of Rincón.

A part of the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, Steps Beach is one of the best snorkeling beaches in the area starting in mid-April when the rough waters great for surfing become much more manageable by leisurely swimmers.
From Tres Palmas Beach, go a couple hundred yards (a few hundred meters) to the southeast to locate this beach.

With such a variety of beaches and surf conditions, Rincon is perfect for just about everything. Swim and snorkel in the calm shallow waters, or gather sea shells along the shore.
