If Rincon is the surfing capital of Puerto Rico, than Maria's is the surfing capital of Rincon. During high season, the waves at Maria soar higher and crash harder than anywhere else on the island. Keep in mind that swimming isn't suggested here, but it is a great locale to watch local surfers, beach comb, and sun bathe.
Situated on the island of Puerto Rico, 2.2 miles northwest of Rincón, You should consider dropping by even if you are not staying very close. Maria's stands out because it's the ideal location for getting away from vacation stresses, like overly crowded restaurants and attractions. Many of the other beaches in Puerto Rico may be just as breezy and refreshing, but are usually busier since they're located by some of the most popular tourist areas in town.
Maria's Beach is located at the junction of Route 413 and Road 4413. Travel past Lighthouse Park were you will find parking next to Calypso Cafe, and you can follow whale-shaped signs to the shore.
Maria's Beach is a small, rocky stretch beach lined with thick trees and brush. The sand is tan colored, and leads to aqua colored waters.
Also, you have the option of trying the restaurant located right on Maria's. Every destination has its own unique cuisine, and Puerto Rico is no different. One of the most enjoyable places to experience the local specialties is right next to the coast. Did you know that some hotels are happy to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Or, on your way to the beach you could grab some carry-out from a casual dining spot.
Please note that public restrooms are not available, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.
Since Maria's is of course located inside a popular area that can get crowded, you might want consider the time when you plan your visit.
Maria's is beautiful natural attraction, which you'll find on the West coast of Puerto Rico. It is near Punta Higuero Lighthouse, which is situated a few hundred yards away, and it is one of a number of the area's interesting attractions.
If you're interested in mixing a little culture with your trip to the beach, you should plan a trip to Maritime Museum, a lovely museum found a few hundred yards away, so it could be a welcomed alternative to hot afternoon activities.

Aguadilla is the closest town and is noted for its balance between seclusion and urbanization. From the coast, Aguadilla is a car ride off, about nine miles (15 kilometers) away.
The mood here——social and lively, or virtually empty—— will be influenced by everything from the time of day to the capacity of nearby hotels. You can generally expect to encounter a fair number of travelers staying at the closest accommodations.

Because restaurants near the beach catch the freshest seafood and the balmiest breezes, don't miss your chance to try a local restaurant, where you can sample regional favorites, within just a few miles of this shoreline. One of the nearest restaurants is Red Flamboyan. The restaurant offers both Caribbean and Spanish cuisines. They're perhaps most famous, though, for their seafood. When you start to get hungry, you won't need to wait too long to eat as it's not far off the beach at all.

Needless to say, Maria's isn't the only beach worth visitng in Puerto Rico.
If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like School Yard Beach, found within the range of a taxi. However, if that's not exactly what you're looking for, Indicators offers more action, and is closer to nearby attractions. It's located a quarter mile to the north.
Another location you may want to try is Sandy Beach, which is located within a short distance.
While Puerto Rico has many alluring attractions, Maria's is both a beautiful natural attraction, and a fun hangout spot.
