The Riviera Maya stretches along the Caribbean coast from Puerto Morelos to Tulum.  As you might imagine, there are dozens upon dozens of beaches in this region, each with a uniqueness to it that makes visitors say "That's the beach for me."

The Area's Beaches

You'll find a large number of beaches to enjoy in the area. Whether you'd rather be part of a busy beach scene, or you like having more of the beach to yourself, you can find a beach that fits your preferences. Click on the beach names for a detailed article concerning that beach.

Playa Tulum

If you want to go snorkeling, a location offering that option is Puerto Morelos Beach. This stretch of public sand is flanked by two private resort beaches, but it is equally as beautiful.

A second alternative worth considering is Maroma Beach. Pure white sands, warm deep blue waters, and stucco huts with thatched roof are what you'll encounter when you arrive at Maroma Beach. The beach is lined with palm trees and the calm waters are great for snorkeling.

El Faro: Lined with lounge chairs, sunbathers can always be viewed along the shore of El Faro. The sand is white, soft and smooth, well kept besides the beach's popularity, and the water that washes ashore is clear and turquoise.
