The largest aquatic nature park in the world, Xel-Ha Eco Park is perfect for those who not only like to participate in watersports, but would like to learn about local marine life while doing it.
This nature park is a collection of natural exhibits and activities for all age groups. There are jungle cruises, snorkeling kayaking, tightrope and bridge walking, as well as many others. This is a great way to be outside when a family has many different interests.
The cost of admission is $29(USD).
Despite being an eco-park, the area itself is built up. However, it is built up around the natural attractions and offers a nice blend of theme park and natural park.
Located in the Riviera Maya, Xel-Ha Eco Park is a good choice if you're planning to stay in this area of Quintana Roo. Akumal is to the north-northeast.
Since this park is located so far from Cancun, it is usually visited as part of a tour group. However, if you do wish to travel there by yourself, you will take the main road south out of Cancun and through Playa del Carmen. About 60 miles past Cancun, and soon after you pass the Gran Bahia, the park will be on your left. If you reach Tulum, or the Tulum ruins, you have gone several miles too far.
Location: the Riviera Maya, Mexico
