While not exactly on the northern portion of the island, Northside Beach does not dissapoint those looking for an easily accesible beach that also offers an escape from the crowds. Located centrally on the island, it is an option for anyone searching for the beach that calls to them.
Situated on the island of Eleuthera, Northside Beach is on the South-Southeast edge of the island, You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying nearby. There are advantages to visiting a beach that isn't crowded into a major metropolitan area; less popular beaches like Northside Beach are perfect when you need a break from the typical tourist scene.
The beach is lined with crystal clear water that lets swimmer see the sandy bottom easily. Landside, the beach is free of heavy development, though you will be able to see a few buildings if you look for them.
There is also a great restaurant right on-site if you're interested; many find it the perfect, convenient solution for lunch. Beachgoers will find notice plenty of nice restaurants all around the Bahamas, but did you know that some of The Bahamas' best dishes aren't served in restaurants at all? Some visitors, in fact, would sooner enjoy lunch on the sand, than lunch at a full-service restaurant. With this in mind, you might ask your hotel if they offer to pack picnic lunches for their guests. Or, it would be easy to grab some hot food from a street vendor or casual cafe along the way.
Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. Fortunately, the water here is fit for snorkeling, so grab some equipment if you're looking to see some exciting marine life.
If you happen to favor shores which offer visitors an idyllic environment, then think about trying out Northside Beach; it's tucked away in a more rural section of the region.
The beach is wonderful, but the surrounding area has a lot to offer, too. Look for it on the South-Southeast coast of Eleuthera. You can stay at the nearby Northside Inn, it can be found not very far away. Tourists could take a cab or probably walk to this property, perhaps the closest lodging option accessible from Northside Beach, though you may not find too many other attractions you can drive to.
Rock Sound is the closest town and is in an area with interesting things to do and see, but isn't as sprawling and crowded as some other areas. From the beach, Rock Sound is not far away, about a mile and a half (two kilometers).
The mood here——social and lively, or virtually empty—— will depend on many factors, including the capacity of nearby hotels. The beach is not located close to many large hotels, but you may meet guests from the few small lodgings in the area.
While this spot isn't close to many restaurants, you'll still have some choices, particularly if you're willing to drive or bike a few miles. One of the nearest restaurants is Northside Inn Restaurant, which is less than a hundred yards to the south west of it.

Another option worth considering is Skeleton Beach, located not too far away, and can be reached in a taxi.
While the area offers plenty of picturesque views and exciting attractions, Northside Beach is both a refreshing place to relax, and a beautiful natural attraction.
