Amenities and Ambiance

The beach is lined with crystal clear water that lets swimmer see the sandy bottom easily. Landside, the beach is free of heavy development, though you will be able to see a few buildings if you look for them.

There is also a restaurant right on the water, so if you don't want to leave Northside Beach at all, it's worth a try. The Bahamas has plenty of fantastic eateries around town, but don't think that tables, chairs, and waiters are prerequisites for a great meal. Many vacationers would sooner enjoy lunch on the sand, than lunch at a full-service restaurant. Ask your hotel about picnic lunches, as some hotels offer to pack snacks for their guests' day trips. Or, you could find just what you need from cafes and street vendors en route to the beach.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, though you may be able to use the facilities at a nearby business. Happily, the off-shore waters are clear enough for snorkeling, so bring along some gear if you're wanting to check out the underwater sites.

Northside Beach provides a calm and serene environment, due to the fact that the surrounding region contains little build-up and is free of urbanization.
