Go northeast for 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Donkey Beach to reach this beach.

6 | Greg Glace Dock Marina

Travel a couple hundred yards (a few hundred meters) from Rodney Bay Marina to reach this marina.

1 | St. Lucia Golf and Country Clu

Set in the rolling hills of the northern tip of the island, golfers will have panoramic views of both the Atlantic and the Caribbean. You might want to make use of their state-of-the-art practice facilities and golf academy, as this is course is no walk in the park.

When you're coming from Ginger Lily Hotel, go a mile and a half (three kilometers) to the northeast to locate this golf course.

2 | Cas En Bas

On the northeast tip of the Saint Lucia, this beach as become popular with windsurfers taking advantage of the constant on-shore trade winds. Lessons are available for those wanting to learn.

St. Lucia Golf and Country Club is three quarters of a mile (one and a quarter kilometers) to the west-northwest of this beach.

1 | Fort Rodney

Built in 1778, Fort Rodney offered a strategic view of the western approach, and all of Rodney Bay. Today, the fort is in ruins, but is a popular place for hikers to explore while on their journey in the Pigeon Island National Park.

Situated on the same premises as Pigeon Island National Park, this historical site is located on Pigeon Island, a mile and a half (two and a half kilometers) northwest of Ginger Lily Hotel.

2 | Pigeon Island National Park

Once called the Pigeon Island National Park, this area of St. Lucia has now been dubbed the Pigeon Island National Landmark, and is considered to be one of the most important showings of island history, culture, and nature. Formerly the site of a British Garrison, this park is now a historical park and nature center, with restaurants, community events, and the still standing forts.

Found on Pigeon Island, this nature sanctuary/wildlife reserve is a few hundred yards (a quarter kilometer) from Fort Rodney.

3 | Pigeon Point Beach

Pigeon Point Beach is one of the island's better known historical areas. Near the beach, you can explore ruins of a fortress, barracks, and rusty cannons that date back to the middle of the 1700s.

Travelers will find this beach on Pigeon Island, a quarter mile (a half kilometer) from Pigeon Island National Park.

1 | Labrelotte Bay

Labrelotte Bay is a semi-popular beach along the northeast coast of St. Lucia, where families can play, and those who worship the sun gods will enjoy lounging on the beach chairs that line the shore.

Ginger Lily Hotel is a mile and a half (three kilometers) northeast of this beach.

1 | La Toc Beach

La Toc is dominated by the Sandals Golf Resort, but there is public access. The atmosphere is relaxed, and it is a really nice location for sunbathers, beach walkers and casual swimmers.

When coming from Ginger Lily Hotel, go approximately six miles (approximately nine and a half kilometers) to the south west to get to this beach.

2 | Sandals La Toc

The course is surrounded by the lush, hilly terrain of St. Lucia's western coast. The course may not be the longest, but it's also not the easiest. The elevated 4th tee might just offer the most impressive vistas, but the 3rd, 7th, and 8th aren't far behind. It might be tough to keep your eye on the ball in such a picturesque setting, so pack your camera if you want to focus on your golf game, and admire your pictures another time.

Make your way a short distance from La Toc Beach to get to this golf course, which is situated on La Toc Road.

3 | La Toc Battery

This old fort was once garrisoned by the British Colonial Forces, though today it serves a a window to the past.

This historical site can be found a few hundred yards (a quarter kilometer) from Sandals St. Lucia La Toc Golf.

1 | Dauphin Beach

Ancient Indian stone carvings are the central draw to this beach, though ruins from an old colonial church destroyed in the Saint Lucia French Revolution of the late 1700s is another intriguing attraction. A trip to Dauphin Beach will make for a very interesting, often exciting, day.

Ginger Lily Hotel is three miles (four and a half kilometers) west-northwest of this beach.

1 | Choc Beach

Vacationers visiting Choc Beach can easily access nearby Castries, as well as its big resorts and shopping centers. Families with children seem to love Choc Beach because of its placid waters, which make a great swimming spot for the entire family.

Visitors can find this beach three miles (five kilometers) south-southwest of Ginger Lily Hotel.

Interested guests will be able to find this beach less than a hundred yards (less than a hundred meters) from Grande Anse.

1 | Marigot Beach

The unspoilt quality at this beach is perfect for a picnic or just relaxing and enjoying the view. This beach should not be confused with the nearby cove at Marigot Bay.

While not overly urbanized, this is a beach that does see quite a number of visitors. Its location adjacent to the the runway of Vigie Airport make it quick and easy to access for those staying along the northwest coast - the most popular tourist area.

Travel four miles (six and a half kilometers) south-southwest from Ginger Lily Hotel to get to this beach.

2 | Vigie Beach

The beach runs alongside the Vigie Airport runway, which seems like an immediate drawback; but the airport is relatively quiet, and its presence means a lack of hotels and resorts, keeping the beach clean and peaceful. Being close to Castries, it also puts you in a good location for shopping, dining, and other activities when you're day at the beach is finished.

This beach is located on the northern outskirts of the neighborhood of North Castries, only 0.3 miles (0.4 km) from Malabar Beach.

3 | Choc Cemetery

Go a few hundred yards (a few hundred meters) from Vigie Beach to reach this historical site, which is located on Choc Castries.

4 | Vigie Marina

You will be able to find this marina in the northern part of Castries, just 0.6 miles (1.0 km) west-southwest of Choc Cemetery.

5 | Folk Research Centre

The St. Lucia Folk Research Centre features exhibits that represent the daily lives of the native people of the island of St. Lucia. Additionally, the research center includes a library with an extensive collection of books, articles, and other text related to the people and culture of St. Lucia; videos of cultural events; and images that span several decades.

Go east-southeast for three quarters of a mile (one and a quarter kilometers) from Vigie Marina to get to this museum, which is located on Mt. Pleasant.

6 | King George V Gardens

Named after a British King of the early 1900's, the gardens are a popular place for a walk in the middle of the day. Located nearby many other attractions, it is a place easily visited without going out of your way.

Travel a quarter mile (a quarter kilometer) from St. Lucia Folk Research Centre to reach this botanical garden, which is located in North Castries, just outside the heart of Castries.

7 | Dollar Wise Arcade

Located in the Blue Coral Shopping Mall, Dollar Wise Arcade opened on St. Lucia as the first official gaming arcade on the island.

This gambling arcade is at Blue Coral Shopping Mall, and is only 0.3 miles (0.5 km) from King George V Gardens.

8 | Derek Walcott Square

Named for St. Lucian author Derek Walcott who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1992, this public square is located in the heart of St. Lucia's capital city of Castries. Not only is there a spot to honor Walcott, but the park also pays homage to residents who lost their lives in battle.

Dollar Wise Arcade is about a hundred yards (a few hundred meters) to the northwest of this park.

9 | Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

As the seat of the Archbishop on Saint Lucia, this cathedral has been a center of St. Lucian cultural life. However, just as the church as affected the people, walk inside and gaze upon the walls' and ceiling's decoration and see how the people have affected the church as well.

Situated within Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, this historical site is located less than a hundred yards (about a hundred meters) from Derek Walcott Square.

10 | Le Pavillion Royal Museum

As the center of St. Lucia's historical and cultural conservation movement, this museum itself holds many treasures of its own. With numerous artifacts and document s detailing the history of St. Lucia's government and in particular the Government House.

Travel a half mile (less than a kilometer) west-southwest from Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to find this museum.

11 | Government House

The current Government House is the third incarnation, with the first being destroyed in 1817, and the second abandoned in 1865. The third and final Government House was completed in 1895.

Vacationers can find this historical site within the grounds of Le Pavillion Royal Museum.

1 | Fort Charlotte

The large Fort Charlotte may be in ruins, but there is still plenty to explore. The fort, built in 1764 by the French, still maintains many of its walkways and staircases, as the site has been renovated as a community college and government offices.

This historical site can be found 7.1 miles (11.4 km) south-southwest of Ginger Lily Hotel, and is within traveling range of Marigot.

1 | Anse Louvert

On the island's rocky eastern coast, this beach will only be accessed by the adventurous and, as a result, you'll likely have it all to yourself. Bring lots of water and some food as you won't find any beach bars or other facilities on this part of the island.

This beach is within traveling distance of Dennery, 9.2 miles (14.9 km) southeast of Ginger Lily Hotel.

1 | Sault Falls

Known also by Dennery and Errand Falls, Sault Faulls is one of the biggest waterfalls on the island. It is also one of the lesser-known falls, the perfect reprieve for visitors who prefer a quiet hike and dip in the cool pools that is fills.

When coming from Ginger Lily Hotel, go 12 miles (19 kilometers) south to get to this waterfall.

1 | Anse Couchon

While visiting Anse Couchon, beachgoers can enjoy some underwater sightseeing at the beach's shallow reef, which is home to an array of fascinating sea life. Visitors will doubtlessly fall in love with the exotic and picturesque shores of this romantic getaway.

Guests will be able to find this beach in the northeastern part of the neighborhood of Ti Kaye, 12.4 miles (20.0 km) south west of Ginger Lily Hotel.
