Although there are three international airports in Jamaica, it won't be difficult to decide which to choose to get you the closest to Rose Hall. Located just 10 minutes from Montego Bay, it is easy to fly into Sangster International Airport, which is also the largest airport on the island.
Known as one of the busiest airports in the Caribbean, the Sangster International Airport (MJB) in Montego Bay has been open since 1940 and today welcomes more than 70 percent of all of the people who fly into Jamaica. This may seem like an overwhelming number for tourists who prefer to fly into a smaller airport, but you can get around the huge crowds by planning your flight early in the morning. The airport's peak operating hours are between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., so if you avoid those times you shouldn't have to fight a crowd as you walk to claim your luggage or to find a restaurant.
Just outside the air conditioned building are two asphalt concrete runways, both of which measure 2653 by 46 meters and are large enough for Boeing 747 jets to land here. This allows international flights, of which there are dozens a day. Most major airlines have direct flights from the United States, Canada, and Europe.
This table lets you know which airlines offer flights directly from the U.S. as well as which airports they fly from. Not all of the flight combinations you will see on line are logical options so it can be handy to realize which airlines actually provide direct service to this location.
