Half Moon Golf Course

With palm trees lining the fairways and great ocean views, the championship course is one of the best in the region. The course was designed to maintain the natural undulating landscape of the area, and can create quite a challenge even for skilled golfers. The course at Half Moon has played host to quite a number of international golf tournaments, and the Jamaica Open has been played here annually since 2006.

Course Description

The greens, hole placement, and sand traps all came from the imagination of Robert Trent Jones Sr, the architect of the course. The golf course features a course rating of 72.1, and its 18 holes measure out a total of 6581 yards. Also be aware that there is a golf professional, Spencer Edwards, at the grounds ready to help first-timers practice their swing or give advanced tips for trained players.

The course and resort is located on the northern coast of the island, and is designed in a way that shows off the natural beauty of Jamaica. Fairways run parallel to the ocean, and the breeze off the water can create troublesome crosswinds that will knock your ball around quite a bit if you aren't careful. Tantalizing ocean views might also cause you to take your eye off the ball.
