With palm trees lining the fairways and great ocean views, the championship course is one of the best in the region. The course was designed to maintain the natural undulating landscape of the area, and can create quite a challenge even for skilled golfers. The course at Half Moon has played host to quite a number of international golf tournaments, and the Jamaica Open has been played here annually since 2006.
The lay of the land, holes, and surprise challenges reflect the design of Robert Trent Jones Sr, the lead architect of the course. The golf course has a course rating of 72.1, and its 18 holes measure out a total of 6581 yards. Also note that there is a golf professional, Spencer Edwards, on hand, so consider golfing here if you're not an experienced golfer.
The course and resort is located on the northern coast of the island, and is designed in a way that shows off the natural beauty of Jamaica. Fairways run parallel to the ocean, and the breeze off the water can create troublesome crosswinds that will knock your ball around quite a bit if you aren't careful. Tantalizing ocean views might also cause you to take your eye off the ball.
