Botanical Beach

This beach runs along the coastline of Dominica's capitol, Roseau. It's a great beach to watch boaters and cruise ships head to port.

Located in downtown Roseau, Botanical Beach is on the South coast of Dominica. You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Active, fun-seeking vacationers might like this beach due to its busy, urban location. In fact, Botanical Beach is probably a great fit for guests of nearby hotels, and people who want an unlimited number of nearby restaurants and activities to choose from.

How to Access The Beach
It is no trouble to find your way here. It's the western edge of the capitol and Victoria St. runs the length of the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

With a thin strip of gray sand and calm waters, this is a pleasant spot to step out of the urban surroundings and enjoy a picnic or a sunset walk, though it's not a popular swimming or water sport beach.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.

Bear in mind that the immediate vicinity around Botanical Beach is a bustling area, so show up early.

Other Beaches

Dominica has many nice beaches, so Botanical Beach is just one of your options.

If the active mood at Botanical Beach has you wanting more of the same, think about also visiting Champagne, another location where you'll find fun and action. You'll find it three and a half miles to the south. The shores of Champagne Beach may be rocky, but its seas are calm and full of amazing marine life just waiting for you to explore. If it's a bit of peace and quiet you're after, Woodbridge Bay Beach is an area removed from some more heavily-traveled spots. You'll find it only a short distance away.

Another sun-drenched spot to consider is Mahaut South Beach, located not a great distance away, meaning a short cab ride can take you where you want to go.

Maybe Botanical Beach is a perfect spot for you to kick back, and at the same time perhaps not the the ideal fit; in which case there are other beaches (and other outdoor attractions) worth trying.
