Located on the western outskirts of Canefield, Donkey Beach is on the South West edge of Dominica. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. The beaches found throughout Dominica tend to be pretty quiet, but Donkey Beach stands out as a pleasant exception to this rule.
Possibly the easiest beach to get to on Dominica, Donkey Beach is right to the southwest of the airport.
Donkey Beach is located right off the main road and within feet of the airport and an industrial park. This makes for poor tropical scenery, but it useful if you wanted to go to the same beach as the locals.
Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.
Be mindful that the immediate vicinity around Donkey Beach is is a much-visited area, so factor that into your plans.

The shores of Champagne Beach may be rocky, but its seas are calm and full of amazing marine life just waiting for you to explore. If you were hoping to find a tranquil beach scene with few crowds, you might find what you want at Woodbridge Bay Beach. It is located not far off the beach at all.
Another option worth considering is Mahaut South Beach, which is located a mile and a half to the north.
