Natural Attractions in Roseau

From Roseau, you can drive or even hike to one of the most important natural landmarks on the island of Dominica: the Morne Trios Pitons National Park.  From atop the mountain you can gaze down over Roseau and the rest of the island, taking in the other sites worth seeing, such as waterfalls, hiking trails and even a botanical garden.

Trafalgar Falls

Although most visitors to the area come for the beautiful water and coastline, that isn't the only way to enjoy the natural wonders available. Areas near Roseau some interesting options, including 6 waterfalls.

You should consider visiting Trafalgar Falls, which is located 3.7 mi. East-Northeast of central Roseau. These two quintessential tropical waterfalls empty into a large freshwater lake below. Great for viewing from the viewing platform, or for the more adventurous swimming up close and personal too, these two well known falls are practically located in the village of Trafalgar make it an easy and quick attraction.

An additional option to consider is Middleham Falls. It is found 3.8 mi. Northeast of central Roseau. Located inside Morne Tios Pitons National Park, this large waterfall is the iconic rain forest waterfall; complete with lush trees, moss covered rocks, and the rumble of water pounding into a pool, creating a thick spray of mist. The exotic waterfall is only part of the sight to see, as the journey to it will bring you past old coffee plantations as well as a collapsed lava tube; a geological wonder that may have helped create the island itself.
