Time on Saba

Time changes can often mark an unpleasant and exhausted start to a vacation, and travelers from destinations outside of North America may have to make adjustments to the time change on Saba.

Like the rest of the Netherlands Antilles and much of the Caribbean, Saba is on Atlantic Standard Time and does not observe daylight savings time. Atlantic Standard Time is four hours behind Greenwich Mean Time in England. This means that Saba will be five or six hours behind the Netherlands in Europe.

The Eastern Standard Time observed on the east coast of the United States is one hour behind Atlantic Standard time when daylight savings period is not being observed. Since Saba does not observe daylight savings period, however, Atlantic Standard Time matches Eastern Standard Time during this period. Currently, daylight savings period in the United States occurs from the first Sunday in April until the last Sunday in October. Beginning in 2007, the period will be extended into March and November.
