Annie's Bay

Once a U.S. Military Beach, Annie's Bay is now a popular beach spot, featuring a small, sandy beach. Visitors receive a panoramic view of the water, complete with dramatic rock formations to the left and an extended coast line to the right. The water is shallow and calm, providing an excellent spot for swimming.

Located on St. David's Island, You might want even if you aren't staying very close. The beaches on Bermuda aren't usually known for their peace and quiet, however, Annie's Bay is tamer than most, which offers some middle ground to those who don't want to wander too far away, but would rather avoid the most hectic parts of town.

How to Access The Beach
Visitors can access the beach via Cooper's Island Road by foot or car. A car park is located shortly off of Cooper's Island Road.

Amenities and Ambiance

Annie Bay features calm, clear waters and a hills that enclose the area. Light beach vegetation adds to the atmosphere, while the soft sand feels great to walk on.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

Attractions

Set on the East coast of Bermuda; this area boasts other attractions such as St. Davids Lighthouse, which is a half mile to the northeast.

If you want to discover more interesting facts about the history of Bermuda, there are nearby attractions where you can learn about their culture and traditions. The nearest historical attraction is Fort Popple, which is not a great distance from the shore, and is accessible in a taxi or on foot.

Annie's Bay is very close to St. George, so a trip into the city is a definite option. Tourists at Annie's Bay who are hoping to find additional places to explore will want to think about heading to St. George, since it's in the vicinity and is an active, busy area. From the shore, St. George isn't far off, about a mile and a half (three kilometers).

Hotels

Whether or not you encounter many other people will vary depending on the time of day, particularly in the high season when hotels overflow with tourists.

You shouldn't anticipate finding any of Bermuda's frequently visited hotels lining this beach, though if you're looking to avoid throngs of travelers, the lack of accommodation possibilities will certainly be welcomed.

Food

A hot day at the beach will have you craving more than just a cocktail; no beach day is complete until you enjoy a meal at a nearby restaurant, where you can dive into Bermuda's specialty dishes, without having to go far. One of the closest places to eat is Blackhorse Tavern. This restaurant has both Caribbean and International menu items. They're perhaps most famous, though, for their seafood. You'll have the option of walking or taking a cab as it's just a little ways away.

Of course, you'll find plenty of other beaches on Bermuda, so Annie's Bay is not your only option.

Another location you might enjoy is Alexandras Beach, situated just a little ways away. But, if you're interested in a more active beach, you might enjoy people watching at Clearwater Beach. It's located a half mile to the south west.

Vacationers may also want to visit St. Catherine's Beach, another great beach choice on Bermuda. St. Catherines's Beach, formerly known as Club Med Beach is one of Bermuda's little pieces of paradise. This oceanfront location is public, so anyone can visit.

There's plenty to see and do on Bermuda, so visiting Annie's Bay is just one way you can enjoy a sunny afternoon.
