Annie's Bay

Once a U.S. Military Beach, Annie's Bay is now a popular beach spot, featuring a small, sandy beach. Visitors receive a panoramic view of the water, complete with dramatic rock formations to the left and an extended coast line to the right. The water is shallow and calm, providing an excellent spot for swimming.

Located on St. David's Island, You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. The beaches on Bermuda aren't usually known for their peace and quiet, but Annie's Bay is a little bit further from the crowds, making it just the right spot for vacationers who want to stay away from big crowds, but still get the most out of their beach visit.

How to Access The Beach
Visitors can access the beach via Cooper's Island Road by foot or car. A car park is located shortly off of Cooper's Island Road.

Amenities and Ambiance

Annie Bay features calm, clear waters and a hills that enclose the area. Light beach vegetation adds to the atmosphere, while the soft sand feels great to walk on.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot.

This pleasant stretch of sand known as Annie's Bay is on the East coast of Bermuda. St. Davids Lighthouse is situated a half mile to the northeast, and it is one of a number of attractions close-by.

Museums and beaches may seem an odd combination to some, but a quite a few vacationers find that museums like Carter House (located one and an eighth miles away) offer an entertaining diversion and help share a different side of Bermuda.

Annie's Bay is near St. George, so travelers staying in town won't have far to go. Annie's Bay tourists seeking further attractions might want to consider going to St. George, because it's in the vicinity and is a particularly bustling part of Bermuda. From the beach, St. George is a fairly short distance away, roughly a mile and a half (three kilometers).

The popularity of this spot on any given day can vary, depending on everything from the time the sun sets to how many hotel rooms have been booked nearby.

You won't find any of Bermuda's popular resorts lining this beach, but if you're looking to elude masses of travelers, the lack of accommodations should be a welcomed sight.

Food

Don't worry if your stomach starts rumbling while sunbathing at Annie's Bay; you'll have plenty of places to dine, without having to go too far. One of the closest restaurants is Blackhorse Tavern. The restaurant serves both Caribbean and International cuisines. They're perhaps most famous, though, for their seafood. You'll have the option of walking or taking a cab since it's just a little ways away.

Of course, you'll find plenty of other beaches on Bermuda, so Annie's Bay is just one of your options.

Another location you might enjoy is Alexandras Beach, found just a short distance away. If you're looking for a more active beach scene, Clearwater Beach may be just what you're looking for. It's found a half mile to the south west.

Another sun-drenched spot to consider is St. Catherine's Beach, one of the many great Bermuda beach sites. St. Catherines's Beach, formerly known as Club Med Beach is one of Bermuda's little pieces of paradise. This oceanfront location is public, so anyone can visit.

Annie's Bay could be the ideal stretch of sand, but it is possible that it may not be the best choice for your family; in which case there are other beaches (and other outdoor attractions) worth trying.
