Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Beach is located on St. Davis Island and features a shallow-water beach that curves slightly on the island's easternmost peninsula. It's remote location promises that the area will be limited to locals. The clear, calm water is perfect for swimming and access is easy thanks to the beach's proximity to Cooper's Island Road.

Positioned on the southeastern coast of St. David's Island, near Castle Harbour, You should consider dropping by regardless of whether you are staying particularly close by. Love beach-going but hate the crowds? Extra space is just one of the perks that comes with finding a beach that's a long way from the nearest major city; secluded parts of the coast like Clearwater Beach let you escape people-watchers and rowdy beachgoers.

How to Access The Beach

The beach is accessible by foot, bicycle, and vehicle. For drivers, a car park is located directly off of Cooper's Island Road.

Amenities and Ambiance

Clearwater Beach is protected by a small rock formation that stretches out from the island, creating Turtle Bay to the east, but also guaranteeing a private atmosphere. The calm waters of the Atlantic promise excellent swimming, while the adjoining Cooper's Island Nature Reserve to the south creates a quiet environment, as well as makes for an excellent picnic spot.

The snack bar located at this spot is perfect for quick lunches and cold drinks, too.

This beach does have its own picnic facilities, making dining here even less of a hassle.

Clearwater Beach does have public restrooms for your convenience. You will find the water here is fit for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some equipment if you want to see what lies beneath the surface.

Attractions

The beach is wonderful, but the surrounding area has a lot to offer, too. Look for it on the South East coast of Bermuda. It is close to St. Davids Lighthouse, which is close enough that guests will have the choice to walk or take a cab, and it is one of the the area's interesting attractions.

Historical attractions such as Fort Popple offer a wonderful compliment to the scenery of Clearwater Beach, plus they allow vacationers to learn more about Bermuda, without straying too far from the coastline. Actually, you'll find this spot one and a quarter miles to the northeast of this destination of historical interest.

Clearwater Beach is close to St. George, so travelers staying in town won't have far to go. Clearwater Beach guests seeking other interesting places to see might want to think about going to St. George, because it's in the vicinity and is an especially active area of Bermuda. From the shore, St. George is not far away, maybe two miles (three kilometers).

The number of other people sharing spots in the sand can vary widely, depending on everything from the time of day to how many hotel rooms have been booked nearby. Clearwater Beach is not near very many major hotels, but you may meet guests from the few small lodgings in the area.

Food

If the heat at the beach has you craving a cool cocktail and a bite to eat, there are lots of nearby options when it comes to dining. Blackhorse Tavern is one of the closest eateries. The restaurant offers both Caribbean and International menu items. Visitors often rave about their seafood. You'll have the option of walking or taking a cab as it's not far off the beach at all.

Other Beaches

Bermuda has many nice beaches, so if Clearwater Beach doesn't suit you, you can still find a great spot.

Another location you might enjoy is Alexandras Beach, located just a little ways away. However, if that's not exactly what you're looking for, Annie's Bay offers more action, and is closer to other popular destinations. You'll find it a half mile to the northeast.

Another option worth considering is St. Catherine's Beach, which is close-by and another fun spot on Bermuda. St. Catherines's Beach, formerly known as Club Med Beach is one of Bermuda's little pieces of paradise. This oceanfront location is public, so anyone can visit.

Bermuda has a lot to offer its visitors, but Clearwater Beach is both a refreshing place to relax, and a beautiful natural attraction.
