Many of the natural attractions in Saint George's Parish are also of historic and cultural significance, making every site you visit a two-for-one punch in the sightseeing department.  Nature Preserves are abundant in the surrounding areas but parks and unique rock formations are especially well liked.  If you're willing to travel a short distance, there are also zoos, aquariums, and mysterious caves worth a visit. 

Nature Preserves and Hiking

Cooper's Island Nature Reserve

Cooper's Island Nature Reserve is a nature preserve found in southeastern Saint Georges Parish. Once occupied by the U.S. military and NASA, Cooper's Island Nature Reserve is now an area of conservation that looks to protect local flora and fauna.

Those hoping to find a another great natural attraction should consider visiting opportunities like Nonsuch Island Nature Reserve. A boat is required to reach the island; transportation is normally included as part of an organized tour.

Blue Hole Hill Park: There are three main entrances to the park, all of which are easy to get to. Taking North Shore Road to Blue Hole Hill will be the most direct.

As the story goes, Sir George Somers asked that when he die, his heart be buried on Bermuda where it belongs.
