One of the great things about staying in Saint George's's is the possibility of utilizing the sea to get around. Not only are you able to take a ferry between Grenada and her smaller sister isle of Carriacou, but you can also connect with the nearby island nation of St. Vincent. One of the most popular uses of water vessels, however, is the water taxi that allows you to avoid ground traffic in Saint George's and sail from the harbor to Grand Anse Beach.

Riding the Ferries

The major ferry service to be aware of when you're staying in Saint George's is the Osprey Express, a modern, high speed catamaran that makes several trips a day between Carenage in Saint George's to Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The trip, which lasts 90 minutes, costs $30 each way for children and $37(USD) each way for adults.

More locally, it is possible to take a water taxi between St. George's Harbour and Grand Anse Beach with a drop off point near the Vendors Market. Water taxis are a fun and inexpensive way to avoid hailing a cab or hopping on the bus, with a cost of just $3.70(USD) for two passengers.
