Natural Attractions in Saint George's

With such a major landmark as Fort George located in Saint George's, it isn't difficult to believe that it is history, heritage, and culture that plays the largest role in sightseeing here.  However, there are a few natural sites that shouldn't be overlooked including several parks, gardens, and nearby gardens. 

Nature Preserves and Hiking

Mt. Hartman Dove Sanctuary

Mt. Hartman Dove Sanctuary is a nature preserve situated 3.4 mi. South of central Saint George's. After an endemic that threatened the local Grenada Dove population, the Mt. Hartman Dove Sancturay was created to protect the bird.

Travelers hoping to locate a another great natural attraction should consider visiting opportunities like Grand Etang National Park and Forest. Varied species of birds, lizards, and other animals make their home in the Grand Etang National Park and Forest.

Waterfalls

Annandale Waterfalls

Even though most people visiting the area are attracted by the beautiful coastline, those aren't the only way to enjoy the natural wonders available. Areas near Saint George's multiple choices, including 6 waterfalls.

You might want to visit Annandale Waterfalls, which is found within Willis, 3.1 mi. Northeast of central Saint George's. A mystic waterfall not far from the road, Annandale waterfall is an easy wonder to get to. Accessibility by public transportation, restrooms, and concessions make this waterfall a common stop on any tour group.

An additional attraction worth considering is Concord Waterfall. It is found 4.8 mi. North-Northeast of central Saint George's. Better than just one, Concord Waterfall is actually a collection of three! Tucked away deep in the forest and mountains this is a less visited, albeit still popular site then some of the tourist falls.

Parks and Botanical Gardens

Guests looking to explore some of Grenada's more natural side without leaving the convenience of civilization may want to look at the St. Rose Nursery and Gardens. This compromise of nature and development will take you through a collection of vegetation and flowers that are perfect for a quick relaxing activity.
