Whale Samana

A trip to Samana isn't complete without participating in a whale watching tour. The season runs from January to March, so if you visit around this time, make sure to book your adventure with Whale Samana.

Offerings and Cost

In addition to the joy of sailing, there is a marine biologist aboard to answer all of your questions about whales. Narration is available in two languages, and there is a snack bar aboard.

Children under the age of 10 cost $30, and adults are $59(USD). If you're also interested in visiting the Marine Mammal Sanctuary, the fee is an extra $3(USD) per person. The great thing about Whale Samana is that they guarantee you'll see whales, and make your next trip free if you don't.

What to Expect

Trips take pace aboard a custom built whale watching vessel featuring two decks and a 360 degree visibility room. The boat is 55 feet long and can carry up to 60 comfortably.

Hours and Policies

The average trip lasts between three and four hours. The boat leaves at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., or 1:30 a.m.

The trip is not recommended for children under the age of two.
