San German is a land-locked town known for its Spanish-Colonial architecture more so than its accessibility to beaches, but there is one great thing about this location that beachgoers who don't need to stay on the shore will love. It's position in the island is within easy reach of both the South and West coasts. These are the beaches which are protected by reefs and feature Caribbean waters, so you can expect calm, warm waters at almost any point you pick.
You will find a large number of beaches to visit, though each of them are found in neighboring areas. Just click on each beach name for more detail concerning that section of the coast.
Buyé Beach: Backed by several resort properties, brush, and trees, Buye Beach features bright white sand, and waters that vary from clear to deep blue.
Another place that beach-goers can consider is Manglillos Beach. Located on the south coast of Puerto Rico, Manglillo Beach is part of the Dry Forest Reserve. The calm waters and beautiful surroundings make it a favorite amongst both locals and tourists, especially on weekends.
Rosado Beach: While the beach is still located inside a community, a wall of trees does help block out some of the buildings and the road. However, even if the trees did not, the area is no San Juan, and is quiet enough not to disturb anyone napping on the beach.
