Escambrion Beach

Located at the Third Millennium Park, Escambron Park is the beach nearest Old San Juan. It is one of the island's Blue Flag Beaches, and life guards are on duty between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on a daily basis. The beach is, however, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in the winter.

Clean sand and calm waters, coupled with the fact that there are lifeguards standing by, make this locale a favorite amongst families.

Located on the island of Viejo San Juan, You should consider stopping by regardless of whether you are staying in the vicinity. Eventually, visitors notice that beaches throughout Puerto Rico are usually fairly quiet, but Escambrion Beach is the exception.

How to Access The Beach

Escambrion Beach is accessible off Calle San Augustin. There is a paved parking lot available for a fee of $4(USD).

Amenities and Ambiance

Thanks to the coral reef that surrounds the crescent shaped Escambrion Beach, the waters are almost always calm. Ropes designate a swimming area, and beyond the rope is sanctioned for watersports. Back on shore, you will find that the beach is lined with palm trees and enjoys views of El Morro Fort and the Capital Dome.

Showers, picnic tables, and restrooms are all available at this beach, meaning visitors can plan on staying here for the entire day.

The water in the area is clear enough for snorkeling, so grab some equipment if you want to do some underwater exploration.

Though, you ought to see that while you will be able to find at least one or two comforts on-site if you go to Escambrion Beach, it is found within an area that sees many visitors. Unless you do not mind crowds, there is a good motivator to think ahead for times when there are less people, such as arriving earlier in the day. If not, you may risk the amenities becoming already claimed by other guests.
