Part of the San Juan National Historic Site, Fort San Juan de la Cruz is a small fort that stands in ruins of El Cañuelo Island at the western entrance to San Juan Bay. Dating back to the 1630s, what's left of the fort isn't much, and a trip to the island is often overlooked by tourists unless they want to take in a panoramic view of Old San Juan.
Consider staying in the vicinity of San Juan if you plan on visiting Fort San Juan de la Cruz, as travelers to this region of Puerto Rico will have easy access to this historic attraction for the duration of their trip. There are many hotels surrounding this historical site.

Vivacious vacationers will also be charmed by the area because of the possibility of open-air options. Historic site visitors interested in testing their skills on the golf course will be pleased to learn of the closest golf course to the museum, Fort Buchanan Golf Club. If playing a few rounds of golf doesn't excite you, think about heading over to Escambrion Beach, the most convenient beach to visit. However, while these options may be the most convenient to access, you'll still have access to a good selection of similar recreation options. Historic site visitors will also find multiple indoor attractions within a reasonable distance. You'll find a pair of spots worth checking out - and Bacardi Rum Plant- both of which are found rather close to the historic site.
It costs $3(USD) to visit the fort.
