Along the coast of San Pedro de Macoris is the ocean promenade, which is called the “Malecon.” A drive along this road offers views of the soft, tan-colored sand leading to bright turquoise waters. The shores are lined with little thatch-roofed cabanas to provide shade for anyone who rents them out, and you can almost always get your hands on one thanks to the lack of crowds in the area.
You'll find a large selection of beaches to visit, though all of them are found nearby. You can click on specific names for a detailed guide to that particular location.
Juan Dolio Beach: Calle Principal runs parallel to Juan Dolio. Exit off the main road onto a dirt road which takes you right up to the sand.
Another place worth considering is Playa Guayacanes. Guests driving to Playa Guayacanes will need to take the main highway heading East out of Santo Domingo until it comes to Boulevar de Juan Dolio. The beach is located on that road.
Caribe Beach: Speckled with coconut palm trees and beach chairs, Caribe Beach features powder soft white sand and shining topaz waters.
