Set inside the Amber Factory Store, the Amber Fossil Gallery is a unique little museum where visitors can view a collection of fossils sealed inside clear pieces of amber, one of the Dominican Republic's most popular natural exports.



Amber is an important natural export of the Dominican Republic because it is one of the few places in the world where the gem can be found. Made from a hardened tree resin, the gem can be found in pure form, or as many people like to view it, with artifacts such as bugs and debris from trees found within the hardened stone. The Amber Factory Store, where visitors can make amber purchases, also houses a collection of amber which have various debris sealed inside them for eternity.
