Santo Domingo is a top vacation choice for tourists interested in culture and entertainment, but beaches are not exactly their forte. Most visitors will travel about two miles outside of town in order to find the picturesque Caribbean beaches that most people visit the island to see.
There are a large number of beaches to enjoy in and around the area. You can click on each beach name to get additional information about that particular location.
Guibia Beach: Guibia Beach is located right off Avenida George Washington. Park amid the trees just before the sand.
Another alternative for beach-goers to consider is Playa los Cuadritos. This large beach is a bit away from the crowds, making it a good choice for those looking for some seclusion. The compromise though is a darker beach and darker water.
Playa Najayo: A tiny stretch of sand surrounded by trees and villas, Playa Najayo has the feel of a private beach without the price.
