Catedral Primada de América

Catholics and history buffs alike will want to come to the Catedral Primada de America, also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor. This flagship cathedral was the first in the new world, consecrated by Pope Julius II in 1504. Additionally, at the request of the King of Spain (also Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire), Pope Paul III made the cathedral the Primate of the Americas.


Visitors are free to explore the grounds and the massive interior of the cathedral. You can even stay for a mass in this historic church if you wish.
