Montesinos Beach

Set in the very busy Zona Colonial of San Miguel, it goes without saying that Monesinos Beach is a well visited beach along the Dominican Republic's south coast. The waters that wash ashore this beach come from the Caribbean Sea, making it calm enough for young swimmers to enjoy.

Located in downtown Santo Domingo, toward the center of Santo Domingo, Montesinos Beach is on the South East edge of the Dominican Republic. You should consider dropping by whether or not you are staying in the vicinity. The beaches found throughout the Dominican Republic tend to be somewhat quiet, but Montesinos Beach stands out as a pleasant exception to this rule.

How to Access The Beach
Montesinos Beach is located just off Paseo Presidente Billini.

Amenities and Ambiance

Set off from a relatively busy port, Montestinos Beach has tan colored sand and green murky waters. Sail boats and cruise ships are always on the horizon.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.

You should remember that Montesinos Beach's immediate surroundings are highly urbanized, so make sure to get a spot!

You'll find it 20 and a half miles to the south west. However, if you're looking to enjoy a quieter scene, Punta Torrecillas Beach is an area which doesn't host as many visitors. You'll find it only a short distance away.

Perhaps Montesinos Beach is the most convenient coastline for you to visit, but some travelers itch to explore more; in which case there are other beaches (and other outdoor attractions) worth trying.
