Montesinos Beach

Set in the very busy Zona Colonial of San Miguel, it goes without saying that Monesinos Beach is a well visited beach along the Dominican Republic's south coast. The waters that wash ashore this beach come from the Caribbean Sea, making it calm enough for young swimmers to enjoy.

Located in downtown Santo Domingo, toward the center of Santo Domingo, Montesinos Beach is on the South East coast of the Dominican Republic. You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. Vacationers who prefer to walk rather than drive around the Dominican Republic will probably like Montesinos Beach. The area surrounding this beach has so much to offer because it is located in a pretty major tourist area.

Needless to say, there are other beaches in the Dominican Republic besides Montesinos Beach worth visiting.

You might also enjoy Playa los Ninos, a popular beach beloved by tourists. You'll find it 20 and a half miles to the south west. If you're looking for something a little more private, Punta Torrecillas Beach may be a good choice. You'll find it not far off the beach at all.

Another location you may want to try is Playa los Cuadritos, located 13 and a half miles away.

Of course, there are lots of other things to do and see in the Dominican Republic; then again, visiting Montesinos Beach or the other beautiful beaches in the area can make your time in the Dominican Republic even more memorable.
