Translated as the Monument to the Heroes of Constanza, Maimon, and Estero Hondo, it is a repurposed relic from the Trujillo Era. Trujillo originally built it in 1955 as the Monument of Peace and Fraternity of the Free World. After Trujillo' regime fell, the new government changed it to honor the men who tried to invade the Dominican Republic on June 14, 1959 to overthrow the dictatorship.
Visitors come to the monument to honor the men who unsuccessfully trued to bring down the Trujillo's government, as well as to gaze at this impressive construction.
The monument includes carious features, including obelisks, arcs, and a statue of the Roman Goddess, Ceres.
