Santo Domingo Colonial District

Known as the "Zona Colonial" in the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo's Colonial District is the oldest city in the new world and listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can walk the cobblestone streets of this town and feel as though they've been transported back in time.


The Colonial Zone is known as the "City of Firsts" and as tourists explore the area will encounter the first hospital, customs house, cathedral, university, monastery, and more in the new world. There are 300 different monuments, homes, streets, and churches here that bring a piece of history to the present day.
