Used to shoot scenes from the Swiss Family Robinson film, this beach is of course a beauty, but it also has great conditions and a limited amount of facilities.
Located in Bacolet, 1.1 miles southeast of downtown Scarborough, Bacolet Bay Beach is on the South coast of Tobago. You might think about stopping by regardless of whether you're staying particularly close by. The surrounding area is not very urbanized, however, the beach itself has plenty of appeal.
The beach is shaped in a crescent with soft, light sand and just enough surf to make it interesting. There is a beach bar and some changing facilities, but they are for the use of guests staying at the hotel that backs the beach.
Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. Conveniently, lounge chairs are available for use at this spot. The water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some equipment if you're hoping to find some interesting marine life.
