Right in the middle of the famous Seven Mile Beach is North Sound Golf Club, the only 18-hole Championship course in the Cayman Islands. You'll have panoramic ocean views, and good chances to enjoy the area's native flora and fauna. Mahogany and coconut palms feature prominently, tropical birds will likely be seen, and there's a good chance you'll see an iguana or two.

Course Description

The course is open year-round.

This golf course could be considered a classic location to play some holes, since it was founded in 1994. The greens, difficulty of the holes, and bunkers all came from the imagination of Roy Case, the architect of the course. It features a course rating of 73.1, and its 18 holes measure a total of 6605 yards. Also note that there is a pro, Josh Shepard, available at the course ready to help first-timers work on their swing or provide advanced instruction for seasoned players.

Water is the distinctive feature at North Sound, and that does not mean a couple of dinky water hazards here and there. In addition to being right on the Caribbean, channels, creeks and lakes will be a factor on 15 of the 18 holes. Winds coming from multiple directions will also factor into the kind of scorecard you turn in. Each year they host the Cayman Islands Golf Invitational, which includes 12 touring professionals from the PGA Tour, European PGA Tour and LPGA Tour.
