Seven Mile Beach

Seven Mile Beach is one of the largest and most popular beaches on Grand Cayman. Visitors can engage in all sorts of water sports but swimming and snorkeling are the favorites in these calm waters. In 2013 Travel + Leisure ranked this beach as one of the "Best Beaches in the World" as well as the "Second Best Beach for Families."

Situated in Seven Mile Beach, this beach is on the West coast of Grand Cayman. You should consider stopping by whether or not you're staying in the vicinity. Many of the Cayman Islands' beaches are calm, pleasant, and quiet. These spots may be perfect for those who need a break from crowds, but busy vacationers may prefer something a little less out-of-the-way, like Seven Mile Beach.

How to Access The Beach

Miles north of George Town, this beach is one of the most popular destinations on the island. There are no public access issues. You can easily find your way here and enjoy not just the beach, but the nearby restaurants, shopping and bars also.

Amenities and Ambiance

On the west coast of Grand Cayman, Seven Mile Beach is actually five and a half miles of powdery white sand lined with palms and Australian pines.

The concession stand located here is another lunchtime alternative. If available, you could also order some food from one of the mobile vendors who are typically found at this location.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. Shower facilities are available, so you can rinse off before heading back to your hotel. Seven Mile Beach is one of the most crowded on Grand Cayman, so visitors should expect crowds of all ages. Mainly tourists populate the beach.

Seven Mile Beach is beautiful natural attraction, which you'll find on the West coast of Grand Cayman. It's located near Trafalgar Square, which is not far from away. Some will choose to walk here, while others will want to take a taxi, and it is one of a few area's attractions.

If you want to mix culture with your visit to the beach, you may want to consider visiting National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, a lovely museum found just a walk or cab ride away, so it could be a welcomed alternative to hot afternoon activities.
