Simpson Bay Air Travel

Easy access to an international airport makes flying to Simpson Bay a breeze

Traveling to Simpson Bay is made easy by the fact that one of the major international airports in the Caribbean is located just a few minutes drive away.  Princess Juliana International Airport is a modern facility that easily welcomes major carriers from around the world so regularly that visitors rarely struggle to find a flight that fits into their schedule.

Flying to Simpson Bay from the US

Despite being part French colony, part formerly Dutch colony, tourists from the United States make up a bulk of this island's tourism.  This may explain why flights from this country are so easy to book.  Jet Blue, United Airlines, and Delta Airlines to name a few, all offer flights out of major airports along the east coast a few times a week.

When flying from the U.S. the following list can be useful for planning purposes. Online booking engines may not identify the most logical options so it's useful to know which airlines provide direct service to this location.

Miami, FL, USA MIA American Airlines

Flying to Simpson Bay from Canada

Direct flights from Canada are perhaps the hardest to come by, but you can make it happen.  Air Canada offers the option a few times a week out of the airport in Toronto, but if those times don't work for you, try flying through New York or Florida.

Flying to Simpson Bay from Europe

There are flights arriving from Europe out of three main countries about two to three times a week from each destination. These locations are the Netherlands, France, and the United Kingdom.  How many flights are available will depend heavily on where in the tourist season you plan your trip.  At the height of tourist season the most options will be available, while you may have to consider flying to New York City then continuing on the Princess Juliana International Airport if you visit during the middle of the summer when it is not as popular a destination.

Flying to Simpson Bay from the Caribbean

Simpson Bay is a great destination for tourists on their way to an adventure that will take them to at least one other country in the Caribbean thanks to the numerous flights available on a daily basis to places like Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Trinidad, and more.  Because Princess Juliana is a gateway to air travel in the region, inexpensive and regular flights to these other islands are available with great frequency.  This also gives travelers a lot of options for finding cheaper flights or ones that fit better in their schedule if they don't mind making a connection elsewhere.

It is also important to know that there is another small airport in Grand Case, St. Martin called L'Esperance Airport which welcomes flights daily from Guadeloupe and St. Barthelemy.

See the table below for air service from other regional airports. If there are no flights from a local airport, a connecting flight from a regional airport could be a viable solution.
