The main beach area of Simpson Bay runs about two miles long and is fairly wide, leaving lots of room for the crowds of tourists who visit each day. Still, in comparison to the rest of town, the beaches are calm and quiet with no high-rise buildings, but instead a few island style beach bars and villas.
There are several beaches to consider in and around the area. Click on the name of each beach for more information concerning that section of the coast.
Kim Sha Beach: Centrally located, Kimsha Beach is what you might call a "party beach." There is always something going on here, even at night, thanks to local venues which host beach parties and concerts on a regular basis. During the day, swimming, sunning, and watersports are all possible.
A second place to consider is Maho Bay Beach. Maho Bay is situated right at the foot of Juliana Airport's runway. With the sounds of the planes taking off and landing mixed with ambiance of the shore, this beach is full of dramatic touches.
Mullet Bay: The shores of the white sand Mullet Bay Beach are lined with lush majestic palm trees, which provide natural shade from the sultry island sun for beachgoers. To the south, there is a large hill featuring rocks and seagrass.
