Many of the attractions that pique the interests of travelers in Simpson Bay center on water.  In addition to the bay for which the town is named for, there are two other breathtaking bays and a seaside nature park in town.  These are in addition to some of the other larger, more structured attractions in the surrounding area including a zoo and butterfly garden, all of which are great ways to spend some time outside when you've had your share of beach time.

Nature Preserves and Hiking

Loterie Farm Nature Reserve

Do you want to spend time under the open sky? You might be happy to find out that the area has several interesting nature preserves nearby.

Loterie Farm Nature Reserve is a popular nature preserve found in Saint Martin, 3.6 mi. Northeast of central Simpson Bay. The park itself offers guests the ability to explore the natural wonder of Saint Martin's forest. The hiking trail is relatively short at two miles, though goes up steep inclines, through ruins, and twists and turns that lead to side trails that can make the hike a little longer. You will have the choice of hiking with or without a tour guide.

Travelers wanting to locate a another great natural attraction will enjoy exploring sites like Sint Maarten Marine Park. Visitors looking to explore the natural ecosystems of Sint Maarten will definitely want to look around the Sint Maarten Marine Park. The park is a breeding ground for countless fish, the home to a growing coral reef, and a designated Important Bird Area where migratory birds often stop to rest during their long journeys.
