Somerset Long Bay

Located far away from tourist areas, Somerset Long Bay beach provides a private Bermuda experience. The white, sandy beach faces the Somerset Long Bay and benefits from the area's shallow, clear waters and panoramic view of the northern coast of the island.

Located toward the center of Somerset Village, Somerset Long Bay is on the North coast of Somerset Island. You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Somerset Long Bay stands out because it's the ideal location for escaping the typical tourist haunts. Most other beaches you'll come across on Bermuda may have the same pleasing, tropical setting as Somerset Long Bay, but tend to be busier because they're right around the corner from the area's major hotels and resorts.

How to Access The Beach
The beach is accessible via foot, with a car park provided on the southern end of the adjoining Somerset Long Bay park. Drivers should take Somerset Road to Cambridge Road, with an immediate left on Daniel's Head Road.

Amenities and Ambiance

Somerset Long Bay lies on the northwestern end of the island and with about a quarter of a mile of sandy coast, this is one of the longer beaches on Bermuda. Undeveloped park land borders this beach, giving it a secluded and uninhabited atmosphere and the small crowd usually consists of locals. The waters along the bay are shallow and calm, perfect for wading or swimming near the coast. However, it is often treacherous to go too much further out; the bottom of the bay is scattered with sharp rocks.

One obvious convenience is this beach's picnic facilities, so your food won't get sandy.

You will be able to use a public restroom at Somerset Long Bay. Somerset Long Bay does not attract very many tourists to its shores. Small groups of locals are usually the only people at this rather uncrowded beach.

Somerset Long Bay including its availability of conveniences can be found well within a relatively urbanized region. With that in mind, if these amenities make or break a trip, it'll likely be a smart idea to arrive in the morning well before the other tourists come or going to a beach further away. If you come later, you might be unable to fully enjoy all the services which this beach offers its guests.
