A quiet beach in the north of Soufriere Town, it is visited mainly by locals. Boaters also enjoy Soufriere as there are a number of spots for boat anchorage. There's a good chance you'll also see local fishermen trying their luck, both from boats and from the shore.

Located toward the outskirts of Soufrière, a few hundred yards northwest of downtown, Soufriere Beach is on the South West coast of Saint Lucia. You might want to drop by whether or not you are staying particularly close by. Social beachgoers may particularly enjoy this beach because of its busy, urban location. Actually, Soufriere Beach would be especially convenient for guests of the nearby hotels, and people who prefer "city life" to the suburbs.

How to Access The Beach
Soufriere is on the southwest coast of the island and can be reached from the main mountainous coastal roads. The nicest part of the beach is on the northern part of town, in between the Hummingbird Beach Resort and the town cemetery.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sand is of a fairly dark color, but the main draw here is spectacular view of some of the world-famous pitons. Located within a quaint, pleasant town, you'll find this idyllic spot perfect for walking or simple relaxation. Nestled inside the fairly deep Soufriere Bay, the water is calm and deep blue. The interior is lush and the landscape dramatic. It is for these reasons and more that Fodors named it one of the top 15 beaches in the Caribbean in 2014.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

You should remember that the immediate vicinity around Soufriere Beach is highly urbanized, so plan accordingly.
