Snorkeling Around South Caicos

On its own, snorkeling is a great experience for all.  If you happen to find that rare location where the reef is pristine, the waters are crystal clear, and the sea life is abundant all at once, you've hit the jackpot.  South Caicos is that place.

South Caicos is home to the healthiest coral reef system in the entire island chain.  In addition to the fact that the government of Turks and Caicos pays great attention to the care of their marine world, this reef is so untouched by human hands that it has been given the opportunity to thrive like any other in the area.  In fact, Scuba Diving Magazine has recognized this area as the “Best Overall Destination,” the “Best Wall Diving,” the “Healthiest Marine Environment,” and the “Best Fish Life.”  Of course, you don't have to be a diver to experience all of this.  Snorkeling tours approach this spot regularly as well.

Of course, you can also bring your snorkeling kit to nearly any surrounding the island and be treated to glimpses of active schools of fish swimming about and sting rays hiding in the sand or the beds of sea grass.
