Heywoods Beach boasts calm, turquoise waters and immaculate golden sand perfect for swimming and snorkeling. A nearby reef makes the area excellent for exploration, as well as an ideal spot for those looking for smaller pools to wade in.

Located toward the northern outskirts of Speightstown, Heywoods Beach is on the North West coast of Barbados. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. Heywoods Beach is one part of Barbados' coast which is rarely too crowded, but it's not empty and secluded either.

How to Access The Beach

The beach is accessible to both pedestrians and vehicles. Drivers should follow the Highway 1B and take a side road in between Port St. Charles Marina and Almond Beach Village.

Amenities and Ambiance

Tropical trees surround Heywoods Beach, while the shallow reef makes for excellent snorkeling. The southern end of the beach is thins out, though it still features small pools to wade in. The beach is uniquely situated between a marina and golf course, both of which provide excellent dining options.

If you're suddenly hungry or thirsty, the concession stand at Heywoods Beach is the ultimate convenience.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. The water in the area is fit for snorkeling, so bring along some equipment if you're wanting to check out the underwater sites.

Be mindful that the immediate vicinity around Heywoods Beach is rather congested, so factor that into your plans.

This beach is positioned on Barbados' North West coast. It's located near St. Peter's Church, which is located a half mile away, and it is one of a number of local attractions.

If you're interested in mixing a little culture with your trip to the beach, you should plan a trip to Arlington House Interactive Museum. This museum is located not a great distance away, giving beachgoers the chance to escape that hot midday sunshine.
