Colony Cove

A popular spot for snorkeling, Colony Cove is frequented by guests of the Colony Cove Beach Resort that calls the sandy spot its own.

Located on the island of St. Croix, 1.2 miles west-northwest of downtown Christiansted, Colony Cove is on the North East coast of the island, You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Seclusion and privacy are the features which most exemplify the Virgin Islands' beaches, but Colony Cove is a little different. You'll still find it has a calm, serene mood, but you can visit without having to be too far removed from the city's activity.

Located just as Route 752 curves along the coast, guests who want to gain access to Colony Cove Beach must first speak to someone at the front desk.

Amenities and Ambiance

Set between two anchorages, Colony Cove is backed by coconut palms and Colony Cove Beach Resort. The sands are soft and tan and lead to calm turquoise waters which are known for housing a natural reef.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. The water here is clear and good for snorkeling, so grab your gear if you're wanting to check out the underwater sites.

Be mindful that the area right around Colony Cove is is a much-visited area, so make sure to get a spot!
