Located on the island of St. Croix, 1.2 miles west-northwest of downtown Christiansted, Colony Cove is on the North East coast of the island, You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Seclusion and privacy are the features which most exemplify the Virgin Islands' beaches, but Colony Cove is a little different. You'll still find it has a calm, serene mood, but you can visit without having to be too far removed from the city's activity.

Set between two anchorages, Colony Cove is backed by coconut palms and Colony Cove Beach Resort. The sands are soft and tan and lead to calm turquoise waters which are known for housing a natural reef.
Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. The water here is clear and good for snorkeling, so grab your gear if you're wanting to check out the underwater sites.

Colony Cove is very close to Christiansted, so a trip into the city——for snacks, drinks, and other attractions——is a convenient option. Not far away you'll find Christiansted, a city which is in an area with plenty of worthwhile sites, while still remaining less developed and congested as some other places. From the beach, Christiansted is just up the road, maybe one and a quarter miles (two kilometers).
