Located on the island of St. Croix, 1.4 miles east-northeast of downtown Christiansted, Grotto Beach is on the East-Northeast coast of the island, You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. Grotto Beach stands out because it's one of the best spots for getting away from vacation stresses, like overly crowded restaurants and attractions. Other nearby beaches in the Virgin Islands may be just as beautiful, but are usually busier because they're lined with some of the most famous hotels and restaurants.

With a gorgeous beach, Davis Bay is a fine swimming spot on the northern side of St. Croix, and although it can get a bit windy, families and bodysurfers gravitate to this area to play in the waters. Others might prefer Half Penny Beach, which could provide a few more possibilities for excitement, and isn't far from other tourist hot-spots. It's located three and a half miles to the south.
