Half Penny Beach

Also known as Haypenny Bay an Ha penny Bach, Half Penny Beach is a long stretch of sand that stays pretty deserted most of the time. With just a small bed and breakfast and a dining club nearby, there isn't too much tourist activity, thought the waters are calm enough and pretty enough to warrant it.

Located on the southeastern side of the island of St. Croix, 2.8 miles south of downtown Christiansted, You should think about stopping by whether or not you are staying particularly close by. Half Penny Beach is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's one of the best spots for escaping the hustle of the Virgin Islands' urban areas. Many of the other beaches in the Virgin Islands may provide just as many amenities as Half Penny Beach, but are usually more cramped since they're found in the most popular parts of town.

How to Access The Beach
Located just south of Christiansted, you can access the beach via South Shore Road, turning at the pink pillars.

Amenities and Ambiance

White sands and calm aquamarine waters typify this beach, which has relatively no shady spots to speak of. There is some seagrass to add to the scenery.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. You will find the water here is of good snorkeling quality, so bring your gear if you want to do some underwater exploration.

Half Penny Beach grants a quiet and relaxing escape, especially since the area surrounding the beach is not heavily urbanized.
