Hibiscus Beach

Located at Hibiscus Beach Resort just west of Christiansted, Hibiscus Beach is known for its snorkeling -- though snorkelers are warned to keep an eye out for a strong undertow when the water is rough.

Located near the center of the island of St. Croix, 2.1 miles northwest of downtown Christiansted, Hibiscus Beach is on the North East edge of the island, You might think about stopping by whether or not you are staying very close.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sand at Hibiscus Beach is almost pink, and very fine, while the water is aquamarine. On shore visitors will find a restaurant and bar from which they can watch the tide roll in.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. For those who don't want to get too sandy while you're soaking up the rays, guests can take advantage of lounge chairs at this spot. The water here is fit for snorkeling, so bring along some gear if you want to see what lies beneath the surface.

Even so, you ought to keep in mind that even though you will be able to find options for amenities and services on-site while at Hibiscus Beach, it happens to be found in a major tourist area. With this in mind, if you feel that the amenities affect whether you'll visit, naturally, it's a smart idea to make it there early in the day before the other tourists come or perhaps try a beach elsewhere. If you come later, you may not completely enjoy all those comforts that the beach has on site.

In 2014 this beach was recognized not only for its beauty, but its high level of care towards sustainability when its Blue Flag Certification by the Foundation for Environmental Education was renewed. There are many criteria that the foundation looks for, and Hibiscus passed every one of them.
