Located at Hibiscus Beach Resort just west of Christiansted, Hibiscus Beach is known for its snorkeling -- though snorkelers are warned to keep an eye out for a strong undertow when the water is rough.

Situated on the island of St. Croix, 2.1 miles northwest of downtown Christiansted, Hibiscus Beach is on the North East coast of the island, You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sand at Hibiscus Beach is almost pink, and very fine, while the water is aquamarine. On shore visitors will find a restaurant and bar from which they can watch the tide roll in.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Luckily, visitors will have access to lounge chairs at this beach. You will find the water here is fit for snorkeling, so grab your equipment if you want to do some underwater exploration.

Hibiscus Beach with its assortment of amenities and services happens to be located inside an area popular among tourist. With this in mind, if you think these amenities influence your decision, naturally, it's an appropriate idea to show up early in the day before the crowds or try a beach away from the major areas. If you arrive later, you may not be able to take advantage of all the services which this beach has on site.

In 2014 this beach was recognized not only for its beauty, but its high level of care towards sustainability when its Blue Flag Certification by the Foundation for Environmental Education was renewed. There are many criteria that the foundation looks for, and Hibiscus passed every one of them.
