Point Udall Monument

Built in the year 2000 for the new millennium, the monument at Point Udall is a sundial, marking the first place the sun touches in the United States everyday.

What to Expect

Visitors that take the time to visit Point Udall will be able to see the the large sundial and look out East and take in the view. While technically not at eastern most point in the US (a place in Alaska actually claims that), it is humbling to look out east knowing that the United States ends here. As a bonus, you can use the sun dial to tell the time.

The large sun dial is made of stone, with four large pillars surrounding a pole. The pole's shadow is used to tell the time.
