While the Virgin Islands has beaches that are more secluded than Reef Beach, it has the right combination of city atmosphere and natural beauty to attract vacationers.

Amenities and Ambiance

At Teague Bay on the eastern coast of St. Croix you'll find Reef Beach, whose waves are popular with the windsurfing crowd. White sands and crystal blue waters create a tranquil and serene environment for guests. Palm trees dot the island, while yachts and sail boats drift through the water.

There is also a restaurant right on the water, so if you don't want to leave Reef Beach at all, it's worth a try. There are so many unique restaurants in the Virgin Islands, but not every meal you enjoy has to be at a fine restaurant. Many visitors like having lunch very close-by. With this in mind, you might ask your hotel if they offer to pack picnic lunches for their guests. Or, it would be easy to grab some hot food from a street vendor or casual cafe along the way.

The concession stand on-site could come in handy, even if you plan to have lunch elsewhere. Sometimes, visitors will be able to get lunch from one of the local vendors who typically set up shop here.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Happily, the off-shore waters are of good snorkeling quality, so grab your equipment if you've been hoping to get in some underwater exploration. The beaches on the east end of the island, including Reef Beach, are harder to get to but significantly less crowded. Here, the majority of the crowd comes out to windsurf.
