Saint George Village Botanical Gardens

Explore the natural side of St. Croix presented in maintained trails, beautiful landscapes, and full of bright, colorful flowers. This is a perfect place to visit when you need a break from the exciting vacation and are looking for the relaxing one.

Saint George Village Botanical Gardens is a 16 acre site that houses 1500 species of pants both native and exotic. The plants surround the ruins of a 19th century Danish sugar cane plantation.

St. George Village Botanical Garden will give you a tour of some of the indigenous species of plant life found on the island, as well as educate you on some of the ecological and environmental issues facing St. Croix.

Location

Located near the middle of the island of St. Croix, 0.5 miles east of Allandale, Saint George Village Botanical Gardens happily welcomes local residents and vacationers who are lodging on this part of the island or close by. Regardless of whether or not you are staying in the vicinity, you are free to stop by to check it out. If you're wondering, Frederiksted is three and a half miles (five and a half kilometers) to the west.

If your belly starts rumbling during a visit to the gardens, don't worry -- you're going to find a plentiful supply of food and drink providers in the general vicinity. The nearest restaurant to Saint George Village Botanical Gardens is Crucian Wings, a wonderful eatery to enjoy a meal at on your way to checking out the gardens. The eatery is a small ways off, but distant enough that you may want to make arrangements for taking advantage of a viable method of transport to visit there. Also within a short distance, you'll come across eateries like Subway Carlton and Mt. Pellier Domino Club where you and your party should make it a point not to ask for your check without sampling their specialty barbecue.

The gardens are open daily from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The botanical garden is closed only on Christmas Day.

Policies

The garden is easily accessible right off Queen Mary Highway.

Cost

Admission into St. George Village Botanical Garden is $8(USD) for each adult. Seniors over sixty get a $2(USD) discount, and children under twelve are only charged $1(USD).
