Sugar Beach

Named for the sugar white sands that rest on the beach, Sugar Beach is located behind a resort of the same name, and is often crowded only by resort guests sunning themselves and snorkeling.

Located on the island of St. Croix, 1.1 miles west-northwest of downtown Christiansted, Sugar Beach is on the North East edge of the island, You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying in the vicinity. Many of the other beaches in the Virgin Islands are known for being secluded spots, which offer tranquility and relaxation. Though some travelers can't wait to enjoy these secret spots, other visitors prefer lounging in the livelier environment at Sugar Beach.

How to Access The Beach
Paved parking is available in front of Sugar Beach Resort, and guests who want to relax on the beach will have to cross the resort's property to get there.

Amenities and Ambiance

Coconut palms line the short shore of Sugar Beach, which is shadowed by the massive luxury Sugar Beach Resort. The waters are blindingly blue, but often overrun with seagrass, making this spot better for lying out in the sun than anything else.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Fortunately, lounging chairs will be offered here for guests looking for a peaceful spot to relax in. Happily, the off-shore waters are clear and good for snorkeling, so grab your gear if you want to do some underwater exploration.

Even so, make sure you see that even though there are definitely a few conveniences (BLANK) at Sugar Beach, it can be located within an area that sees many visitors. If throngs of people are something you want to avoid, it should be a smart idea to plan ahead and beat the crowds, like heading to the beach first thing in the morning. If you wait around, it's possible you may risk all of the services becoming unavailable.
